Questions from grown-ups
What ages is ComicBug for?
ComicBug is made for kids ages 6 to 12. Younger kids may enjoy it with a grown-up nearby.
How do Sparks work?
1 Spark = 1 custom picture your kid dreams up. Writing help and the preset art library are free to use. You decide how many Sparks each kid can spend.
What happens when Sparks run out?
Kids can keep writing and using the preset art library. They'll see a friendly note to ask their grown-up. You can wait for next month's Sparks or buy a Spark Pack.
Can siblings share?
Yes. Each plan covers up to 3 kids, each with their own profile, and they can read each other's published work in the family library.
Is the AI writing the story?
No. Your kid writes every word and draws every panel. ComicBug only asks questions and gives ideas when they're stuck.
What can't kids do on ComicBug?
Kids can't message anyone, share outside the family, see prices, buy anything, or share personal details. There are no public profiles or comments.
What printed book formats are there?
Softcover comic, square picture book and hardcover keepsake. Prices depend on the format and page count, and shipping is shown at checkout. US shipping usually takes 1–2 weeks.
What are gift links?
Private links you can send to grandparents so they can preview a book and order their own printed copy. They show only the pen name, and you can turn them off anytime.
How do the trial and cancellation work?
Your first 7 days are free with 10 Sparks. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you won't be charged. After that, cancel anytime and keep access until your paid period ends.
What devices work?
ComicBug works in a modern web browser on tablets, laptops, desktops and phones. Tablets are a kid favorite.
How do I delete our data?
You can delete a kid's profile and everything they made from your grown-up dashboard, or send a request from our contact page and we'll take care of it.
